The Global 50 Publishing Ranking & Frankfurt CEO Talk

The Global 50 Publishing Ranking presents a ranked list, an analysis of trends and portraits of around 50 companies from around the world that each report revenues from publishing of over 150mEUR (or 200mUSD). Included are consumer book, educational as well as scientific and professional publishing groups.

Updated every year since 2007, the Global 50 ranking has initially been an initiative by Livres Hebdo and Rüdiger Wischenbart Content and Consulting, who researches and publishes the report, in cooperation with Bookdao (China), buchreport (Germany), Livres Hebdo (France) and Publishers’ Weekly (USA).

The edition 2021 of the Global 50 will be released by the end of August 2021. A complete digital publication in PDF format will me made available in early September.

For the Frankfurt CEO Talk, the magazines partnering for the Global 50 invite each year a top executive from among the listed companies, or from a related industry, to be interviewed on key strategic developments in the global book business. The next CEO Talk is scheduled for Wednesday, October 20, 2021, in cooperation with ReBoot Books and Frankfurter Buchmesse. Details will be announced by early September 2021.

A White Paper has been released already as a preview to the new Global 50 under the title of “Breaks, But No Breakdowns: The pandemic and its impact on the international book business”, focusing on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on exemplary leading publishing corporations, and on accelerated business innovation as well as industry consolidation.
